I recall telling a co-worker of mine about Outlander by Diana Gabaldon and her saying “Is this one of those books with the naked hhe on the cover? Lauren May 24, Lauren May 24, I just finished reading this for the second time.
The book was safe. This story was a great set up for the next book, Dark Highlander. This book is highlaneer and sexy, but the love relationship is always at the forefront.
I love the time travel idea of it, but it just fell a little flat for me. Moning’s snappy prose, quick wit and charismatic ksis will enchant. The time travel eleme I’m not going to write a lengthy review here as this book is years old and there are already so many reviews but I will say that it’s a highly enjoyable Highlander romance with some supernatural time travel elements mixed in and plenty of humour as well as a well-planned and surprisingly complex plot.
Kiss of the Highlander | Karen Marie Moning
I love this book for 2 reasons The ending was amazing and incredibly inventive and although there are more books in the series and three prior to this one as wellthis felt complete in its primary plot line.
There is a perfect blend of wit, humour and romance. I’m not going to write a lengthy review here as this book is years old and there are already so many reviews but I will say that it’s a highly enjoyable Highlander romance with some supernatural time travel elements mixed in and plenty of kiiss as well as a well-planned and surprisingly complex plot.
I am at a loss for words to describe how much I loved Kiss of the Highlander.
Kiss of the Highlander
Of course, he is also chiseled and delicious looking so despite his overbearing high-handedness, Gwen’s hormones cannot wait to tango with him. Moninf only she had listened to her son and trusted that God would take care of him.
As usual with these series that have been reviewed ad nauseum, I won’t get into the plot. Drustan kne A laird trapped between centuries A story that captivates, charms, tugs at the heart! She highlxnder totally clueless about faith and fate.
This is Gwen and Drustan’s story. They form a bond, he vows love to her, and then attempts to go back in time to undo what has happened to him.
He sometimes throws the dice where they cannot be seen. This is a story where the pushy, chauvinistic male character gets locked in the privy by the brilliant and stubborn female protagonist until he learns to behave himself.
And this book is no exception! Dark Highlander here I come!!
But he is endearing, he is stubborn, he is handsome and a mathematical genius. Durstan, a hot higlander that’s as alpha as they come and loves unconditionally, meets his match with his heroine Gwen.
Kiss of the Highlander (Highlander, #4) by Karen Marie Moning
This was a delightful book. The story is basically div Once upon a time ‘a girl who was hiking in the foothills of Scotland found an enchanted highlader sleeping in a cave above Loch Ness’.
I was already pretty angry with all the stuff that had happened up until the second to last chapter that my poor Kindle almost paid the price.
Drustan is a wonderful hero and I very much enjoyed seeing him waking in the 21st century after sleeping for hundreds of years and experiencing cars and lighters and such like. I would definitely recommend you read this book.
However, for those on the fence about reading a silly romance novel, I can assure you that this one is full of romance, intrigue, comedy, suspense and a perfect dash of sex. But one thing I can say is that constantly talking about a 25 years old heroine’s virginity is definitely not cool.
The books have been optioned twice for potential franchise development by Twentieth Century Fox and DreamWorks Studios, but the rights are currently held by Moning who has expressed a desire to one day see it as a television series.
See the other authors section. Gwen was a great heroine, she was intelligent, honorable and smart enough to figure out how to trap Drustan in his own guarderobe. Their love was absolutely transcendent and I loved how effortlessly the author handled the time-travel concept.
This is one of KMM’s funniest books. I skimmed some scenes tbh because they did feel like a little bit too much at times. When sh I loved everything about this book, starting with the yummy cover!
Oh boy, I could stare at Nathan Kamp’s lips for a lifetime! And he needed the bewitching woman by his side Gwen is on vacation to Scotland, touring with a bunch of pensioners completely by accident — I found this funny because the same thing happens to me when I was I was overwhelmed with emotion while reading this book, but the last few pages made my eyes so wet, I could barely read to the end.
She is in search of a cherry picker and so far no man has be I am on Highlander high and these books are going to be my fix! For the next decade, she worked in insurance, where she wrote intercompany arbitrations and directed commercial litigation. I was captivated from the first page and I literally did not put the book down until I finished it. Gwen and Drustan fall in love twice in this book and each time was better than the last. Lists with This Book.
They should name a damn charitable foundation after me to help other people suffering from this obscure mental illness. There are some funny moments, monung sexy times, and some sweet moments I’m so glad I tried this series again.
